Winter 1851, in Lozère. As the political system changed abruptly after Napoleon III’s coup, the countryside caught fire. But during this time, a bad thing happened. There are reports of villages emptied of their inhabitants. While your fellow gendarmes are ordered to defend the newly created empire, you are sent to investigate these mysterious disappearances alone, which some inhabitants seem to attribute to the return of the beast of Gévaudan.
